Family Community

Each parent becomes a member of the Aoba-Japan International School Family Community upon enrollment of their child. The objectives the Family Community Association are:

To create opportunities for the parents of the children of A-JIS to become better acquainted with each other, the faculty, staff and the school in general, in a spirit of good friendship and fellowship.

To organize and sponsor social and fund-raising activities among the parents of children attending the Meguro and/or Suginami Campuses for the benefit of both schools.

To support and assist in extra-curricular special occasions and events such as Spring Carnival, Halloween Parties, Christmas Parties, Graduation Ceremonies, Sports Events and other related activities.

To issue a bulletin or newsletter to the parents of both campuses containing; an invitation to participate in various committees, information about pending activities, and/or social events that may be of interest to the parents, and (in the September and April editions) a financial report of the Family Community Association.

Officers

Family Community officer holders for the 2009-2010 school year are:

Akemi Asami & Hiroko Fujita, Treasurers

Additionally, Ms. Kristine Bordner, the Middle School Vice-Principal will serve as the school liaison for the Family Community.
